Lourenço Leitão (metaformações) was born in Coimbra, Portugal, where he studied until he moved to Cologne, Germany, in order to continue his studies. There he began his artistic work, in terms of digital painting, and particularly digital photography. It was after returning to Coimbra, that his photographic work had the greatest development, the city where he continues to live.
The author's work has been oriented towards the development of a photographic collection.


metaformações collection

At the beginning of 2019, the metaformações collection was composed of about sixty pieces in the field of digital arts, almost all of which were created by the author Lourenço Leitão himself (metaformações).
The predominantly abstract works are grouped into thematic series with different levels of complexity, covering aesthetic photography or photojournalism.
The collection is complemented by a photographic installation, entitled 37=2, whose photographs are by Fernando Padilha.

From 2003-2004, Lourenço Leitão (metaformações) began to develop some of his photographic work within the scope of Aesthetic Photography, which is a photographic genre that should be understood as an aesthetic experience, where the variables of the artistic process can play a prominent role in photographic composition.
